Firefighter's Rap Video Close To Going Viral 6-10-2010

A few Midland firefighters are getting some national attention after posting a rap video on YouTube last week.
TV5 featured the three rapping firemen espousing firework safety, and now their video has garnered more than 6,000 hits.
Firefighters Mark Laux, Roger Bebeau and Steve Makowski have appeared on CNN, in various newspapers and on numerous radio programs.
The trio appear in the video dressed in full fireman’s gear rhyming the importance between legal and illegal fireworks.
Now the YouTube video is on its way to going viral.
“I had to figure out what viral was,” said Laux. “I didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing, so once we found out it was a good thing, it's pretty cool, it feels good.”
The song filled with lyrics such as, "Some fireworks aren’t safe to use -- shooting balls -- don’t light the fuse," and "Safe to use are sparklers and snakes -- fountains and smoke bombs -- you can partake,” are a reminder to kids to take extra precautions this upcoming Fourth of July holiday.
The Federal Emergency and Management Agency has contacted the firefighters about using their video as a part of a training program.
