Flint Group To Discuss Crime-Fighting Measures 6-11-2010

Flint will hold a Blue Badge Patrol Corps meeting next week.
The Corps is now the city’s umbrella program for all volunteer-based crime-fighting initiatives.
As a member of Blue Badge, Flint residents can volunteer at a mini-station and participate in a crime watch.
The meeting is set for Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hurley Medical Center’s main campus at Merliss Brown Auditorium, One Hurley Plaza.
The city said training is required for all current and potential mini-station volunteers and neighborhood Crime Watch leaders.
The information session is open to all residents.
The city said selection into the Blue Badge Patrol Volunteer Corps will require successfully passing a background check.
