Triathlon Team Holds Race In Brother's Memory 6-11-2010

A group of three brothers have been across the country acting as a running voice for donor families.
Now, Lon, Trevor and Brandon Coleman are bringing their message back to their hometown of Millington to honor their fourth brother, Chase, who was killed in a car wreck at 20 years old.
The brothers established the TRI for LIFE Triathlon Team to raise awareness for organ donation through triathlons and to keep alive the memory of Chase. They're goal is to compete in triathlons in all 50 states, signing up organ donors during their unique journey.
The youngest brother died in a 2003 car crash the day before Mother’s Day.
The family followed through with Chase’s wish to have his organs donated -- and as a result seven lives were saved and 100 more people benefited from his gifts of tissue and bone.
One of those individuals was Terry Gould, a 51-year-old father of four who received Chase’s heart. Gould himself now competes at national and international Transplant Games for organ recipients.
But the focus Saturday was on the brothers, who were racing one team member short -- sharing their family's story along the way.
The race utilized the new Southern Links Rail Trail and included distances of 5k, 10k, a 5k walk, and a 1k kids run.
