Downtown Flint Eatery Reopens After 2009 Blaze 6-15-2010

Churchill's Food & Spirits celebrated its official grand reopening Tuesday morning in Flint.
The restaurant, 340 S. Saginaw St., has been closed since a Dec. 30 fire. A news conference and ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at 11 a.m.
"The fire was a blessing from above," said Nadine Cook, part-owner of the restaurant. "Out of every tragedy comes a treasure. We’re hoping that our old friends will be willing to give us another try."
The new-look Churchill’s has an outdoor patio, completely renovated wood floors and a state-of-the-art kitchen.
The hours of operation have been extended on weekdays to 8 a.m until 9 p.m. to attract the downtown business crowd and college students.
The eatery has been a downtown Flint establishment for more than 30 years.
