Update: M-13 Reopens After Major Gas Line Leak 6-17-2010

M-13 over the Kawkawlin River reopened Friday morning -- nearly 24 hours after construction crews damaged a gas line.
The 6-inch high pressure gas line ruptured just before 11 a.m. Thursday as road crews operated machinery nearby.
Consumers Energy, Kawkawlin and Monitor Township fire officials determined evacuations were not needed.
While the gas line was being fixed, motorists were detoured at Kawkawlin and Beaver roads.
The U.S. Coast Guard also blocked boating and Jet ski traffic on that section of the Kawkawlin River.
