Malfunctioning Power Cable Disrupts City Hall 6-23-2010

Power problems are causing big headaches at a local City Hall and computer use must be kept at a minimum.
A bad wire is keeping computer use at a minimum for Midland city employees.
Consumers Energy is blaming a bad underground cable for the outage on a stretch of Ashman and neighboring streets.
The city of Midland’s treasury office is still operating, however, and people are still paying their bills.
A Consumers repair crew spent Wednesday trying to locate the bad power cable.
Consumers has incrementally restored power to the affected customers, but as of Wednesday evening, not to City Hall.
The utility does not know when power will be completely restored.
