Outage In St. Charles Leaves 1,200 Powerless 6-24-2010

Consumers Energy said a substation switched off that services St. Charles.
It happened around 9 a.m. Thursday and immediately left 2,100 customers without power.
By switching and routing the power load, Consumers said it was able to restore power to 900 homes and businesses at the north end of St. Charles.
For the remaining 1,200 in south St. Charles, Consumers warns that it could be as late as midnight before power is restored.
A portable substation is being brought in from Jackson to fix the outage.
The substation’s power loss is not known at this time.
