Area Man To Hike Appalachian Trail For Cause 6-25-2010

A local man is hitting the Appalachian Trail for a good cause.
Robert San Miguel is using his trek to raise money for Saginaw-based Forgotten Youth Ministries, an outreach program for juvenile offenders.
San Miguel has been training for the past six months to prepare for the 500-mile hike.
“It’s probably going to take me five to six weeks, maybe 12 to 18 miles per day,” said San Miguel. “Hopefully, that will get me somewhere [in] Massachusetts.”
San Miguel will start his hike July 8 at the southern end of the trail and anyone can sponsor a mile of the trip for $10.
