Police Investigating Dozens Of Vehicle Larcenies 6-28-2010

Saginaw Township police are investigating a string of larcenies stretching back more than a week.
It’s just the latest car thefts that authorities have investigated this month across the county.
Detective Lt. Gary Grauf told WNEM TV5 a dozen unlocked vehicles were targeted Sunday, June 20, in a subdivision north of Shattuck, west of Lawndale.
Other similar vehicle burglaries occurred during the week in Thomas and Frankenmuth townships.
Another rash of thefts were committed sometime Thursday night into Friday morning, east of the Saginaw Township police offices in a subdivision off of Hemmeter and Shattuck, near Greenfield Acres.
Police said none of the cars was forced open as their owners left the cars unlocked and the thieves simply opened the door to gain access.
Valuables such as GPS units, purses, cash, BlackBerries and laptops were taken from the parked vehicles.
The most recent larcenies were reported to authorities Monday as having taken place at The Village, west of the Saginaw Country Club, where a dozen cars were ransacked.
Anyone with information or witnessing some sort of larceny in progress is urged to contact the Saginaw Township Police Department at 989-791-7226.
