Ex-Police Officers In Ads Defend Mike Cox 6-30-2010

Two former Detroit police officers who worked with Attorney General Mike Cox while he was a Wayne County prosecutor are defending him in separate campaign ads.
Cox is one of five candidates vying for the Republican nomination for governor.
The two ads began airing Tuesday on Detroit-area broadcast and cable stations. They're among four ads the Cox campaign last week said were stolen and posted on YouTube.
The two former officers say in their ads that Cox is being "falsely attacked" by "political thugs." T
hat's a reference to radio ads questioning Cox's role in investigating a rumored party at the Manoogian Mansion, the official residence of then-Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.
The party has never been proven but rumors of a cover-up persist.
