UM Says It Has $446K In Bills For NCAA Probe 7-05-2010

ANN ARBOR, Mich.The University of Michigan has received at least $446,971 in bills for legal and other expenses over the NCAA's investigation of rules violations in the Wolverines' football program.
The figure comes from invoices the law firm Lightfoot, Franklin and White the Detroit Free Press obtained through the state Freedom of Information Act. The invoices are through April.
University spokeswoman Kelly Cunningham said in an e-mail message to the newspaper that Veritas Insurance Company has paid all invoices so far.
The school admitted May 25 to a series of practice and workout rule violations and reprimanded coach Rich Rodriguez and six others.
The NCAA has a hearing on the case Aug. 13-14 in Seattle.
