Want A Nexteer Automotive Job? Get In Line 7-06-2010

Nexteer Automotive has had about 100 new hires start work in the past week, and the company is promising more jobs are on the way.
But landing one of those jobs may be easier said than done.
In fact, WNEM TV5 reporter Brian Wood has discovered many of those jobs may already be spoken for.
Tuesday, Wood spoke with Dave Denno, who heard the auto parts manufacturer is hiring and expanding its work force.
Denno stopped by United Auto Workers Local 699 in the hopes of landing one of several hundred promised new jobs.
Last week, 52 people went through a job orientation at Nexteer and started work Tuesday.
At least 50 more people will have their orientation completed by the end of this week. In all, Nexteer plans to hire 200 people by the end of this year.
UAW Local 699 and Nexteer told TV5 a lot of people have contacted them in their search for a job with the plant.
But Nexteer officials said many of those jobs will be filled from the bank of applications the company already has.
Union officials said they’re hoping the plant will continue to grow and even more jobs will be opening in the future.
Anyone interested in working for Nexteer can sign up for a notification alerting them when new jobs are posted.
