Saginaw Woman Seeks To Expand City Gardens 7-07-2010

A Saginaw woman is trying to bringing gardening to the community.
Lee Campbell started growing her own produce to help feed her family after losing her job.
Now she's showing neighbors how to do the same, teaching adults and kids how to till, mow and harvest.
But Campbell wants to expand the project with hopes of using land bank lots that can be leased from the city for $1.
Campbell is in the process of turning Victory Valley Gardens into a nonprofit organization.
For now, the group is using land at Ames United Methodist on State Street.
To get involved, contact Campbell at saginawgardens@gmail.com, via phone at 989-401-2585, or at Ames Church at 989-754-6373.
