Construction On Freeland Road Bridge Hits Snag 7-09-2010

Construction work on the Freeland Road Bridge over the Tittabawassee River is on hold after state Department of Transportation and Saginaw County Road Commission rejected bids on the project.
Officials said the low bidder misinterpreted hot how to bid in the process, which could have inflated the cost. Calls for a new bid are expected this fall.
The project estimated at $620,000 is expected to be completed near the Labor Day holiday in 2011.
The Freeland Road Bridge, built in 1976, is 482 feet long.
