Woman Killed When Vehicle Hits Escaped Horse 7-14-2010

FRIENDSHIP TOWNSHIP, Mich.Northern Michigan authorities said a 42-year-old woman was killed when her vehicle struck a horse that broke free and walked onto a road.
The crash happened about 5 a.m. Tuesday in Emmet County's Friendship Township, about 60 miles north-northeast of Traverse City in the northern Lower Peninsula.
Sheriff Pete Wallin identified the woman as Terri A. Sholberg of Harbor Springs.
He said the horse also died in the crash.
Wallin said it appears the horse escaped from a home in Harbor Springs.
He said an investigation into the incident continues.
