Woman Sentenced In BV Twp. Pit Bull Attack 7-14-2010

A woman charged in a Saginaw County pit bull attack that nearly killed a man has been sentenced.
Shamorrow Amos will spend three months under house arrest for her role in the March 2009 dog attack on two people.
A judge sentenced Anthony Hunt last month to at least five years in prison for possessing a dangerous animal causing serious injury.
The dogs attacked Duane Vanlanham and Bridgetta Hadley last March in Buena Vista Township.
Prosecutors said Hunt and Amos owned the two dogs that nearly killed the two people.
The defendants maintain during the trial that the animals did not belong to them at the time of the attack.
During the trail, Vanlanham told the jury exactly what happened when he pushed Hadley, his neighbor and longtime friend, into a car when he saw her being attacked by the three dogs more than a year ago.
Hadley testified that Vanlanham came to her aid by attacking the dogs with a large stick, before they turned on him.
Vanlanham was hospitalized for months due to his injuries.
