Flint Truck Assembly Employees Resume Work 7-19-2010

It’s back to work Monday for employees of General Motors’ Flint Truck Assembly Plant.
The plant canceled production shifts July 16 due to a parts shortage stemming from a recent hurricane that hit the Gulf of Mexico
The plant builds the heavy duty Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups.
Officials said despite the shutdown Friday, production on the four-door, light-duty Silverado will still begin this week. It will be the first time the vehicle will be built in the U.S.
The plant opened in 1947 and currently has 2,043 employees.
