Deputies Bust Theft Ring Spanning 13 Townships 7-20-2010

The Saginaw County Sheriff’s Department has been busy this summer investigating nearly 100 incidents of property theft in the county.
The sheriff's department said 31 people have now been arrested in connection with those cases.
Authorities said the larcenies occurred in 13 of Saginaw County’s 27 townships.
Sheriff Bill Federspiel said those suspects include some recently paroled career criminals.
Federspiel said input from the community helped his deputies make the arrests.
“We couldn’t have done it without the public,” said Federspiel. “We’ve encouraged the public to get involved.”
The Saginaw County Sheriff's Department is also handling a few cases in Gratiot and Midland counties.
Authorities said they’ve solved 88 of the robberies since June 1.
“Yeah, it’s a lot of hard work on our detectives, but without the public’s assistance in this, we probably wouldn’t have solved all of these cases,” Federspiel said.
The largest number of solved theft cases occurred in Chesaning Village and Township, with 22 solved, James and Saginaw townships, with 13 cases solved each respectively, and Kochville Township, with eight larcenies solved.
