Bone Marrow Drive Held For Cancer-Stricken Girl 7-21-2010

A Genesee County family is asking for the public’s help as their 1-year-old daughter battles a rare type of leukemia.
A bone marrow donor registry drive is being held for Madison Lasley on Saturday at the Bethany Baptist Church in Burton, located on Hemphill Road.
Lasley was diagnosed with juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia a month ago.
JMML is a rare form of blood cancer with only 25 to 50 new cases diagnosed in the United States annually. It's only known cure is a bone marrow transplant.
Madison's marrow donor registry drive is being conducted in with the Michigan Blood Bank. The event begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m.
Family members have set up a Facebook page dedicated to the girl's situation.
WNEM TV5's Amy Andrews will be at the registry drive to help support Madison.
