Federal Grant Helps Bay City Rehire Firefighters 7-22-2010

Bay City will soon have a full staff of firefighters again thanks to an $800,000 grand from the Department of Homeland Security.
The grant was originally written to bring back six pink slipped firefighters, but four of them were recently rehired.
City Manager Robert Belleman told TV5 the city will have to contact DHS to have the grant amount modified, which could delay the rehiring process.
Belleman said expects the remaining grant will still cover all of the costs of bringing back the remaining two laid-off firefighters.
