Texas Man Arrested In 'Intentional' Hit-And-Run 7-27-2010

Mount Pleasant police said they’re investigating after being called to the scene of an intentional hit and run early Tuesday morning.
Police said the incident happened in a parking lot of a business in the 600 block of North Mission Street.
Investigators said the victim, a 23-year-old Mount Pleasant man, suffered severe head injuries and was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw.
Authorities said the suspect, Brandon Lovell Goodwin, 23, of Texas, and the unnamed victim had entered into an altercation with the victim’s friends earlier in the evening at a local business.
Police said Goodwin then left the establishment, threatening the victim and his friends as he was leaving. Shortly after Goodwin left, the victim and his friends departed on foot, police said.
Authorities said the investigation revealed that Goodwin intentionally struck the victim with his vehicle. They said Goodwin then fled the scene and was later apprehended. Police said alcohol is believed to have been a factor in this incident.
Goodwin is currently lodged at the Isabella County Jail on charges of assault with intent to murder and operating while intoxicated causing serious injury. Goodwin’s bond has been set at $500,000.
