TV5Â?s Katie OÂ?Mara Interviews Saginaw Bishop 7-29-2010

Bishop Joseph Cistone is marking his 1-year anniversary as the leader of Saginaw’s Catholic Diocese.
The Bishop sat down with WNEM TV5’s Katie O’Mara to reflect on his first year here in Saginaw.
He said it was one filled with tough choices, including a move to close and consolidate several local Catholic schools.
"Our main goal is not necessarily that we have a number of schools, our main goal is that we have a good, strong, affordable, quality Catholic education," he told O’Mara. "Perhaps we will see more consolidation take place before we see an upturn.”
Cistone came to Saginaw from Philadelphia.
His predecessor Bishop Carlson left the diocese in April to become the new Archbishop of St. Louis.
