Drivers Ignore Road Work Signs, Neighbors Fume 7-29-2010

The signs say "road closed,” but some neighbors claim drivers are just ignoring them.
Crews are working on Malzahn Street in Saginaw, and it's supposed to be shutdown to through traffic. But as WNEM TV5's Brian Wood discovered, it seems no one's paying attention.
Frank Fath watched Saginaw city workers continue their three week project in front of his westside home.
The Melzahn Street road repair project is currently in its second week, and neighbors said right from the start, motorist have ignored the detour signs. Many just drive around them.
People who live around where the work is being done said they're afraid someone is going to get hurt.
And the job foreman, Simeon Martin, concurred. He said he’s worried about that motorists who shouldn't be on that road during construction could potentially hurt someone.
With just a week to go in the road repair project, neighbors said they're just glad the project is winding down.
