Bomb Squad Gives 'All Clear' At GM's Flint Truck 8-03-2010

Flint police were called Tuesday afternoon after a suspicious package was found in the mail room at General Motors Flint Truck Assembly Plant.
GM spokesman Tom Wickham said the package was discovered about 2:30 p.m. by a mail room employee.
Flint police inspected the box and called in the Flint bomb squad for further investigation.
Wickham said the box actually contained an automotive part.
The sender, whose return address was on the box, was contacted and confirmed that the part was being sent to GM. There was nothing malicious intended with the mailing, according to Wickham.
Manufacturing operations continued at the plant; however, officials had sent first-shift workers home about 30 minutes early. Second-shift workers reported as scheduled.
The all-clear was sounded around 5:30 p.m.
Flint Truck, located on Van Slyke Road, builds heavy- and light-duty trucks.
