Trial Ordered For Ex-Teacher In Student Sex Case 8-05-2010

A former Freeland school teacher accused of having sex with a student is heading to trial.
A father took the witness stand during a hearing Thursday to speak out about the alleged affair he says his son was having with then Freeland High School teacher Marcie Rousseau.
He said, at first he though his son was seeing a girl his own age. “I'm thinking, there's a 16-year-old girl in my house,” said the teen’s father in courtroom testimony. “When he found out we were going to see her parents, he says ‘dad you can't, it's my teacher.’”
The teen Rousseau is accused of sleeping with also took the stand, and talked about why he chose to break his silence about their alleged relationship.
“And from some of the things he told me I, was confident that there had been a sexual relationship,” said the teen’s father, who explained he caught Rousseau at his house when he came home unexpectedly and found her car parked in the garage. “I said ‘you got about two seconds to explain who's in our garage,’ [and] he said ‘dad, it's a girl.’”
The 17-year-old also took the stand and told the courtroom that he decided to come clean about the affair because he believed Rousseau was sleeping with other people.
In court, Rousseau took notes and looked at the ground.
The teen's dad went on to explain how this incident has affected his son.
“Fact is, we we're up until 3, 4 o'clock in the morning talking about it,” said the teen’s father. “[It was] a very traumatic experience for my son.”
And the legal battle is just beginning because this case is now set to go to trial.
