Another Sexual Assault Reported On Riverwalk 8-06-2010

In the second time in just one week, a woman reported a sexual assault on Bay City’s Riverwalk trail.
The latest assault allegedly happened Thursday afternoon in Veteran’s Memorial Park.
Bay City police said a 55-year-old woman was jogging around 12:30 p.m. when a man approached her on a bicycle.
Police said man “touched her in an inappropriate manner” before riding a short distance away. The suspect stopped momentarily before leaving the area in a northwest direction near the Trombley House in Veteran's Memorial Park, police said.
The alleged attacker was described as a white male, approximately 16-years-old. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and navy blue jeans.
Police said the suspect was riding a bike described as being silver in color and the size of a mountain bike, but without having multiple gears.
With this latest incident, the Bay City Police Department wants to remind trail users to travel in pairs, pay attention to surroundings and always carry a cell phone.
On Aug. 1, a 29-year-old Bay City woman told police a man attempted to sexually assault her while she was walking on the trail.
Investigators did not say if the attacks were related, but the police descriptions of each suspect are similar.
Anyone with information regarding either assault is asked to call the Bay City Police Department Detective Bureau at 989-894-0161.
Police are also looking into a few other rail trail attacks.
They still have no suspects in an incident that happened near Zilwaukee in May of 2008. DNA was recovered in that attack but police said it didn't match anyone in the system.
They're also still searching for suspects in an incident from April of this year. Police say a man came up and grabbed a woman walking on the rail trail in Hampton Township.
