Police Release Details Of Flint Stabbing Suspect 8-09-2010

Investigators said they’re continuing their investigation into the stabbings of 13 men resulting in the deaths of five of the victims since May of 2010.
Now authorities in Virginia, with an apparent serial stabber of their own, are comparing their case to Flint's.
Police say the vicious spate of violence may be motivated by racial hatred as all but one of the 13 victims who were attacked while alone outside at night was black.
A combined task force of Genesee County law enforcement resources met on Saturday at the Flint State Police Post to continue the ongoing review and follow up of leads and tips in the investigation.
Investigators from several Genesse County law enforcement agencies are now assigned on a full-time basis to this investigation.
The man is described as white, late 20s to early 30s, standing 5 feet 11inches to 6 feett 2 inches, weighing 180 to 210 pounds with light colored hair. Police said the man usually wears a baseball cap during the attacks.
Additionally, he has a large metal "rod" type piercing in the upper left ear.
Survivors of the man's attacks say the attacker approached them under the pretense of needing directions or help with a broken down vehicle.
Police said they’re looking for a 1995 to 2005 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer or GMC Jimmy-type vehicle. Victims have described it as being a 4-door that is two-tone green over beige or gold.
Citizens are asked to remain vigilant and report any information they may have on this man to the Michigan State Police Flint Post at 810-732-1111.
A press conference to provide additional information regarding this investigation is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Monday in the Genesee County Prosecutor's Press Conference Room in Flint.
Meanwhile, police in Virginia are holding a news conference to discuss their investigation of an apparent serial stabber in Leesburg whose attacks are raising questions about a possible link to a serial killer in Michigan.
In the last week, three black men in Leesburg have either been stabbed or hit in the head with a hammer by a stranger, described as a middle-aged white man. None of the injuries was fatal.
The news conference by Leesburg police is also scheduled for 4 p.m.
WNEM TV5 will have the latest on the case beginning tonight at 5 p.m.
