Water Treatment Plant Violations Cost City $2K 8-09-2010

The city of Saginaw could be paying a fine for problems at its waste-water treatment plant.
The $2,100 fine from the Environmental Protection Agency is for minor deficiencies at the plant.
That includes risk management regulations not being adequately documented.
The city had the opportunity to dispute the findings but could have incurred a large penalty in the meantime.
The city council will consider approving the payment at a meeting Monday night.
