2 Students Involved In Bus Vandalism Expelled 8-10-2010

Two Freeland students involved in vandalizing vehicles at the district’s bus garage have been expelled.
School board members voted 6-0 Monday night to expel the high school students who admitted to police they vandalized several school buses and vehicles, causing upward of $20,000 in damage.
The board made the decision at the recommendation of Freeland Superintendent Matt Cairy.
In late July, Tittabawassee Township police said the vandals slashed tires, broke windows, cut various electronic wires and destroyed engine parts. In all, six buses, two tractors, a van and a pickup truck were damaged.
About a week later, both suspects admitted their guilt.
The investigation has also been turned over to the Saginaw County Prosecutor’s Office.
