'Improved' Bay Co. Fair Promises Something New 8-10-2010

The new and improved Bay County Fair is underway and organizers said the public will find more rides, more events and something for every member of the family.
Kennedy Gollin is a Bay County 4H member who enjoys the time invested in her project and her friends. “You learn so much about animals and you learn from those who are around you,” said Grollin. “It’s fun, [and] it teaches responsibility.”
4H leaders say the kids have a lot of fun, all while working for a goal. “We give them a project, it gives them something they can do if they work at it and there are many rewards that come with success,” said 4H leader Jody Wrzesinski.
Besides the animals, there's lots of fun stuff going on at the fair every day and night.
“We have the Figure 8 and many other grandstand activities that are family friendly,” said Carrie Vanochten, with the Bay County Fair.
The fair also has a mud bog and Bump n’ Grind Thursday and Saturday nights.
The fair is more than elephant ears and cotton candy; it's about youth and having a good time.
It runs through Saturday and for a list of activities, click here.
