Feds Raid Suspected Serial Killer's Rental Home 8-12-2010

Investigators have raided a rental home in the 3700 block of Maryland Street that is believed to have been used by suspected serial stabber Elias Abuelazam.
The home is in a normally quiet neighborhood on Flint’s east side. Neighbor’s said police arrived around 11p.m. Wednesday night to search the home.
Witnesses said officers with the Michigan State Police crime lab removed numerous items.
Neighbors said the 33-year-old Abuelazam lived at the address since the spring and kept to himself. They said they were shock to find out the suspected serial stabber lived in their neighborhood.
“We never suspected that something this horrific would be in our own neighborhood,” said a woman who has lived in the area for years. “You can look around; it’s a nice, quiet, well established neighborhood.”
“We’ve had our breaking and entering’s, and stuff like that, maybe some muggings,” said another resident. “Nothing to this magnitude where we’ve got this serial killer living right down [the road] and didn’t even know it.”
The home where the suspected stabber lived is just two blocks from where the first stabbing victim, David Motley, was found on May 24.
Neighbors said they’re glad the attacker has been caught.
