Pickup Truck Sought In Amish Buggy Hit-And-Run 8-18-2010

Clare County sheriff's deputies are investigating a Wednesday morning collision between an Amish buggy and a pickup truck.
The crash happened in Clare County's Sheridan Township at about 9 a.m.
Deputies said the buggy was traveling on Colonville Road when a newer dark blue GMC or Chevy pickup sideswiped the buggy.
A man, woman and their three children were inside at the time of the collision. Authorities said the five people were either thrown from the buggy or jumped out following the impact.
Deputies said the pickup truck driver left the scene, as did the horse and buggy.
One of the children, a 6-year-old girl, was taken by her family to a nearby farm with what police describe as "fairly significant" head injuries.
Police believe the truck's mirror might have struck the girl's head.
The girl was flown to a Saginaw hospital for treatment. TV5 has learned the girl is in critical condition.
Police said the rest of the family only had minor injuries.
Deputies want the public to be on the look out for the truck which sustained damage to its passenger side where it would have marks from striking the wooden buggy. Investigators said part of the truck's fender flare was actually stuck in the back of the buggy's bumper.
