Flint Unveils City's First Biomethane Fuel Truck 8-19-2010

A green energy project continues to move forward in Flint.
On Thursday, Flint Mayor Dayne Walling and students from Kettering University unveiled Flint's first biomethane fuel truck.
Students at Kettering have converted a 2500HD Chevy Silverado to run on a dual-fuel system.
The vehicle can be powered by biomethane gas, a renewable alternative fuel that will be produced at the new biomethane plant in Flint.
Swedish Biogas International has teamed with Flint on the project.
Taxis, buses and vehicles in Sweden run on biomethane, making up about 2 percent of the country’s transportation fuel, according to reports.
