Rain, Hail Of All Sizes Pummels Mid-Michigan 8-19-2010

Saginaw County Central Dispatch said several tree limbs and power lines have come down after strong winds and rains suddenly pushed through the region early Thursday evening.
Tom McIntyre, with Central Dispatch, said so far, damage appears to be minimal.
TV5's Liz Gelardi reported via Twitter that she could hear tornado sirens sounding in Frankenmuth, at about 5:30 p.m.
Several TV5 viewers in Freeland submitted pictures showing hail ranging in size up to one inch in diameter.
TV5 Chief Meteorologist Darrin Bradley said tornado sirens were triggered in the Flint area just before 6 p.m.
Besides the Saginaw area, Birch Run, Millington, Clio and Otisville were all struck by heavy rain and hail.
Bradley said First Warn 5 Radar showed upwards of 2-inch-in-diameter hail within the center of the storm.
He also said the largest reported hail to hit the ground was 1-inch 3/4 in size, five miles west of Frankenmuth.
McIntyre said a tent was bown down at the McDonalds restaurant on Holland Road in Buena Vista and one person there suffered a laceration.
Bradley spoke with TV5 weather spotters who said a half-inch of rain had fallen within minutes. Numerous ground lightning strikes have also been picked up by First Warn 5 Radar.
