Midland Chemical Bank Robbed By Masked Man 8-20-2010

A Midland bank has been targeted by a robber for the third time in just the last few years.
The Chemical Bank, off Saginaw Road, west of Eastman, was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money just after 1 p.m. on Friday.
TV5 spoke with a few people who saw the event happen, including a man who was getting his oil changed next door to the bank.
"We were just standing there talking and some guy came running from the woods. He had a face mask on and a black hoody, and I told Lamar, 'That guy is going to rob the bank,' [and] he said 'no,'" said one witness TV5's Katie O'Mara talked with following the incident. "He came running out and I chased him through the woods."
"So he didn't get to the bank, or did he?" O'Mara asked regarding the suspect. "Yeah, he did," said the witness. "He went in and came out and I started chasing him."
O'Mara asked if the person had any money from the heist. "I guess he had some bags," said the witness.
That man chased the culprit through the woods behind The Chemical bank to the robber's parked car.
The witness described the car as an older model blue, two-door Pontiac Sundance. The witness also said the robber was by himself.
Midland police said the car was rusty and may bear a partial license plate that reads CBF81. They also said the robber is described as a white male with a thin to medium build, standing about 6 feet 1 inch tall.
While police said no weapon was shown during the robbery, a witness said they saw what appeared to be a long gun so the man is considered armed and dangerous.
Midland police told TV5 they are still investigating and it's still not known how much money the robber got away with.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Midland Police Department at 989-839-4713 or Crime Stoppers.
