32 MIPs Issued During CMU's Welcome Weekend 8-23-2010

Police in Mount Pleasant were busy this past weekend for the traditional 'Welcome Back Weekend' for Central Michigan University students.
Police said 32 MIPs were issued by Mount Pleasant officers from Thursday night to Sunday morning. Nearly all of the people who received an MIP were also cited for Open Intoxication, according to a news release.
Police also investigated five nuisance party complaints and made four operating while intoxicated arrests.
Data from the CMU Police Department and Isabella County Sheriff's Department were not included in this report.
However, CMU police said an unarmed robbery occurred near the intersection of Preston Street and West Campus Drive Saturday around 4 a.m. The victim was reportedly robbed of his wallet by three or four black men.
Students begin classes at CMU this week.
