Court Turns Down Commire's Conviction Appeal 8-24-2010

The Michigan Court of Appeals won't hear the case of a Bay City teen convicted of killing an 83-year-old woman in 2007.
Shawn Commire and his cousin, Robert Commire, were convicted of beating and stabbing Rita Salogar to death in her home during a robbery.
Both Shawn and Robert are currently serving life sentences.
Salogar died in her Bay City home in June of 2007 after being stabbed to death in what police called a botched robbery.
During Shawn Commire's murder trail, prosecutors played chilling 911 tapes of Salogar begging for help.
Police said Salogar was found with blunt-force injuries to her head and 42 stab wounds to her face, neck and body.
The defense attorney argued during the trial that the murder was not premeditated and asked the judge to give Shawn Commire the possibility of parole after serving 20 years.
