Week 7 Game: Midland High @ Midland Dow
Steve: This crosstown rivalry means even more this season to the Chemics and Chargers, as the winner of this game finishes no worse than 2nd in the SVL, the common denominator here is both teams only losses were to Mt. Pleasant.
This is the Chargers chance to beat the Chemics for the first time since the 2002 season, and for that to happen Dow needs to get to Alex Rapanos and stop the Chemics ground game.
It’s a pretty even matchup this year, with both teams having stellar defenses and high scoring offenses as well.
The intangible here is experience, the Chemics bring a bit more to the table, and in a rivalry game that can be a factor.
It’s a nip and tuck game through 3 quarters but the Chemics squeak a hard fought win over the Chargers in a game people will talk about for a long time.
My Pick: Midland High 21, Midland Dow 17 Overall Season Record 7 -1

Wes: In a game that will mean second place in the SVL, I think the Chargers finally have enough firepower to knock off their big brother in the Chemics.
Although I think the Chemics are playing the best ball in the SVL right now, I think the absence of Alex Rapanos' senior leadership will hurt them with the Chargers pulling out a last minute victory.
The Chargers haven't beaten the Chemics since 2002 and have lost 8 straight, but there is a time and place for everything.
The game will be played at Midland High, but the only time the Chemics were beaten this season was at home to Mt. Pleasant.
It will be close and of course it could go either way, but i'm going to disagree with my counterpart, Steve Duncan.
I'm hoping to tie up the overall series anyway.
My Pick: Midland Dow 21, Midland High 19 Overall Season Record 6-2
