Unadjusted Jobless Rates Rise In Much Of State 8-27-2010

LANSING, Mich.New figures show increases in the seasonally unadjusted unemployment rates across much of Michigan.
The state said Thursday that Michigan's unadjusted jobless rate rose to 14 percent in July from 13.1 percent in June.
When the rate is adjusted for seasonal changes, Michigan's July jobless rate was 13.1 percent, little changed from June's 13.2 percent.
The Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth says the seasonally unadjusted rate for the Flint area was highest of the 17 regions in July at 15.4 percent. That's up from 14.1 percent in June.
The Detroit area's rate rose from 14.3 percent to 15.2 percent.
The Ann Arbor area had the lowest rate in July at 10 percent, little changed from June's 9.3 percent.
