Prosecutors Finally Connect On Serial Stabbings 8-27-2010

The top prosecutors in Michigan and Virginia building a case against a serial stabbing suspect over the past two weeks have finally spoken about the case.
Their discussion Friday came after Loudoun County, Va., Commonwealth's Attorney Jim Plowman criticized Genesee County, Mich. Prosecutor David Leyton in the media for not returning a phone call.
Leyton said the two talked Friday morning and had a good conversation. He said they are on the same page in prosecuting Elias Abuelazam.
Abuelazam is charged in one Flint-area knife attack and suspected in 13 others, including three in Virginia and one in Ohio.
Five of the Flint-area attacks were fatal.
More than two weeks ago, police linked three attacks on black men in Leesburg, Va., with stabbings in Michigan.
