'The Bricks' A Bother? Flint Businesses Say Yes 8-27-2010

Some Flint downtown businesses said the Back To The Bricks Cruise Festival inconvenienced them.
The owners will meet this evening at The Soggy Bottom Bar to discuss the closure of downtown streets and the effect on their business.
They said the Bricks stage on Saginaw Street prevented thousands from crossing the river and affected their sales for the day.
In order to accommodate the more than 250,000 spectators, new rules were put in place to streamline the parking situation in downtown Flint. That act might play a part in the grievance the businesses claim to have against the festival.
The nearly-week long festival attracted hot rods and classic cars, not only from Michigan, but from all over the county.
Initially, local business owners were eager to see what the Back to the Bricks crowd will do for Flint's economy.
