Dog Thwarts Frankenmuth Twp. Home Invader 8-31-2010

The Frankenmuth Police Department is investigating a home invasion which occurred in Frankenmuth Township on Monday.
The incident happened in the 8000 block of King Road in between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Police said a person made entry into the unoccupied home, but ended up being restricted to one room due to the homeowner's dog.
Frankenmuth Police Chief Don Mawer said the Chow-mix had full run of the house, except for the room the burglar broke into.
The crime scene was processed and police department crime techs were able to collect a fair amount of evidence -- including forensic data, police said.
Later in the investigation, police learned a two-door dark gray Cadillac was seen driving slowly in the area on the morning of the incident, and may be involved.
Authorities said the investigation remains open.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Frankenmuth Police at 989-652-8371.
