Deere Sells Wind Energy Business For $900M 9-02-2010

A proposed wind farm in Huron County will be getting a new owner.
Deere & Co., the parent company of John Deere, said it will be selling its energy division.
Deere said it will sell all of its farms in eight states, including Michigan, to energy company Exelon Corp. for $900 million.
Exelon is currently the nation's largest nuclear energy producer.
Deere & Co. said it made the sale of focus on what it does best -- farm equipment.
The transaction is expected to close by the end of the year.
