Agency's First Left-Handed-Built House Finished 9-10-2010

Crews with Saginaw's Habitat for Humanity will dedicate the agency's first ever left-handed-built home Friday.
Saginaw resident Patricia Marcelin, 38, and her children, Anthony, 22, Mona, 14, Phalicia, 9, and Abigail, 2, will move into the four-bedroom home at 2029 Avon in Saginaw after the noon ceremony.
"This project has been everything we thought it would be," said Cameron Brady, the left-handed development manager for SHFH said. "It's a well-built house where volunteers have had the chance to expand their skills and have fun doing it."
Brady said about 150 volunteers helped complete the 1,230-square-foot home. Meanwhile, Lowe’s Home Improvement donated $35,000 to the project and Hemlock Semiconductor Corp. added another $3,000.
The project was expected to be completed on Aug. 27, but was scrubbed due to changes in the work schedule.
