Sheriff's Deputies Help Round Up Herd Of Buffalo 9-10-2010

Sanilac County Sheriff Garry Biniecki said that his department received a call late Friday morning about dozens of loose buffalo.
Deputies responded around 10:30 a.m. to a location on Peck Road, near Mowerson Road in Elk Township, to find more than 80 buffalo roaming freely in a field and on the roadway.
Sanilac County Search and Rescue, as well as the Sheriff's Posse, were dispatched to help contain the animals.
Biniecki said the sheer amount of buffalo, coupled with their aggressiveness, made the round up more difficult.
Authorities said the situation was resolved around 1:30 p.m. and no deputies, citizens or buffalo were injured.
It's unknown how the animals got loose, or where they were corralled once they were rounded up.
