MDOT Wants Public Input On I-75 Widening Plan 9-15-2010

The Michigan Department of Transportation is holding a public meeting for interested residents to learn more about the proposed reconstruction and widening of Interstate 75 in Saginaw County.
The project would stretch from Dixie Highway north to the south junction of I-675, and extend through Buena Vista and Bridgeport townships.
The proposed work includes reconstructing 5.4 miles of the existing six-lane freeway and the addition of a permanent outside lane.
MDOT said the changes would ensure traffic congestion relief for weekend travelers.
The meeting will be held Wednesday at the MDOT Bay Region Office, 55 E. Morley St. in Saginaw from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
MDOT staff members will be available to answer questions.
The project is expected to be the final phase of an overall I-75 reconstruction project, which extends 40 miles through Genesee, Saginaw and Bay counties from I-475 just north of Flint to the M-13 connector.
Anyone unable to attend Wednesday's meeting can still have their opinion heard by calling 517-373-9534.
