The Detroit Red Wings began their third annual community relations tour Thursday, which included stops in Saginaw and Flint.
Two groups of Red Wings players made numerous stops at elementary schools, hospitals and medical centers throughout the state en route to training camp in Traverse City.
Red Wings forwards Todd Bertuzzi, Darren Helm, goaltender Jimmy Howard and new Red Wings center Mike Modano spoke with military veterans at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw.
Prior to that event, the NHL stars attended a rally at Flint's Potter Elementary School, where they held a Q&A with students.
The events were not open to the public.
