Drug Enforcers Net 4,241 Pot Plants Since Aug. 9-16-2010

Officials said 4,241 marijuana plants were confiscated in six Mid-Michigan counties during a state police-sponsored sting that begin in August.
The Bay Area Narcotics Enforcement Team (BAYANET) said the plants have a street value of nearly $430,000.
In all, agency officials said snatched 1,487 plants in Saginaw County, 1,324 plants between Bay Midland and Gladwin counties and 1,430 more between Isabella and Clare counties.
A total of 24 people are expected to be charged in connection to the bust. No medical marijuana growers were targeted, officials said.
More details are expected to be released during a Friday morning news conference at the Saginaw Township Fire Department.
The State Police Aviation Unit also provided assistance the program called 'Domestic Cannabis Eradication Suppression.'
