Mid-Michigan Soldiers Ship Out To Kuwait 9-19-2010

Local families gathered in mid-Michigan this weekend for a somber goodbye to loved ones as their unit heads overseas.
One hundred thirty soldiers in the 182nd field artillery unit left Monitor Township Saturday morning to begin their journey to Kuwait.
They are on a mission to serve as security while the United States moves troops out of Iraq.
"I think this is great service for the county. It's always good to have our fellow men and women in the service," said Godfrey Rammidi, soldier.
It's been more than seven years since the war began, but now the time has come as troops move out of Iraq. These troops are coming in as a means to end the war.
The artillery unit went to Wisconsin, where the troops will train before heading to Kuwait in about a month.
