Flint Readies For Annual 'Bikes On The Bricks' 9-21-2010

The 2010 Bikes on the Bricks festival will fill Flint’s Saginaw Street this weekend.
The bone-jarring roar of two-wheeled hogs will be highlighted Friday during a 30-mile police escorted ride, led by 60 officers, across Genesee County.
There is a $10 per person charge for a wristband to participate in the ride and profits will be donated to the Flint Police Activities League.
There are also non–rider wristbands available for $5.
"I think that the motorcycle community has the deepest pockets when it comes to charity -- especially when it deals with children," said Bob Muschiana, of the Flint Area Good News Riders -- a Christian motorcycle association. "Guys dig deep when it comes to our kids."
New this year at Bikes on the Bricks will be the Dyno-Drags.
On Friday and Saturday, racers will attempt to reach triple digits while sitting still. The winner is the bike that hits the fastest mph in the shortest time.
The popular law enforcement rodeo competition is also back this year.
Riders attempt to out do one another by maneuvering their way through a tricky snake-like obstacle course on two wheels. The best cyclist wins supreme bragging rights.
